Chris Boote  - Chair, Plymouth LINk Stewardship Group

Chris has been a member of Plymouth LINk since November 2008 and was elected as Chair of the Stewardship Group in February 2009.

He has lived in Plymouth for most of his life and until 2006, when he took early retirement, he had a career for 42 years in the Telecomms industry. He has worked as a switch and transmission engineer, operational manager and concluded in a financial environment, managing a national business management team.

Since his formative years he has been active within the community from being an officer in the Boys Brigade to becoming a qualified mountain leader working as an outdoor pursuits instructor for the Cities Youth Service.

He has been a school governor for nearly thirty years, having served on the board of the Hele’s school in Plympton since the early eighties. In the last two years he has represented Secondary governors on the Executive of Plymouth Association of Governors. Additionally he now works for the Princes Trust as an honorary business mentor, helping young people who are starting their own businesses

He has really enjoyed his involvement during the last eighteen months and has encountered some very committed professionals in both Health and Social Care and equally committed volunteers within the Plymouth LINk.

In partnership he is sure we can improve the health and social care journey for everyone.
